The association has existed from around 2005 but was officially founded as an official organization in 2008.
Various people have been associated with the association from the beginning but the official founders are Áki Ásgeirsson, Davíð Brynjar Franzson, Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson, Ingi Garðar Erlendsson and Páll Ivan Pálsson.
