A Rádio Comunitária Ilha FM 104,9 surgiu da visão de um grupo de pessoas que perceberam a necessidade de existir um veiculo de comunicação na cidade de Ilha Solteira – SP que pudesse suprir as carências da comunidade local.
Os brasileiros, assim como os ilhenses, têm o direito à informação e à expressão, garantidas pelo artigo 220 da nossa Constituição Federal.
Diante disso, este grupo fundou uma associação denominada ASSOCIAÇÃO BENEFICENTE E CULTURAL COMUNITÁRIA DE ILHA SOLTEIRA, responsável pela criação e manutenção da ILHA FM – 104,9 A emissora tem, entre seus objetivos, colocar em prática o pacto de San Jose da Costa Rica, que foi assinado pelo Brasil, em 1969.
Este determina que toda pessoa é livre para receber e difundir informações, sem que haja controles abusivos oficiais ou particulares.
A rádio comunitária foi criada de acordo com a Lei 9.612, de 1998 e regulamentada pelo Decreto 2.615 do mesmo ano.
