The Rotary Club of Sylhet Central was established in the year 1978 as the first club of Sylhet, it was sponsored by Rotary Club of Dhaka.
At that time Bangladesh was under RI District 329 and the District governor was Dr.
G.
C.
Sen from Kolkata, India.
As per the club desirement the board of directors of Rotary International on 2nd June 1992 approved the amendment to article 1 of the constitution of Rotary club of sylhet and there by changed the club name from Rotary club of Sylhet to Rotary club of Sylhet Central.
The club has three Rotaract club, one Interact club and two Rcc..
