Detailed description is Founded in 1942 by my Grandfather, Alcide Rodrigue (who was employed @ Higgins Shipyard in New Orleans working on P.T.
Boats during World War II) decided to build himself a Pirogue during his spare time on the weekends.

A 'passer by' saw Alcide's Pirogue on the side of the house one day on his way to Grand Isle & convinced Alcide to sell it to him.
(With the money Alcide made from that sale) he had enough money to buy materials to build 3 boats; and the rest is history! .
My Dad (Valcour) was about 8 years old at the time & found himself playing in his Father's Shop making toys with the scraps of wood.
He built his first boat at the age of 13.

In the early 1960's Alcide decided to retire & sold the Boat Business to his son, Valcour.
(A Master Mechanic), Val started installing engines in the boats, machining his own shafts, keels & couplings to complete the Boat Building trade.
