4-H members and supporters of the 4-H program raised the funds to purchase the property and ceremoniously burned the mortgage in June of 1946 before the inaugural camping season began in July of 1946..

Since our humble beginnings, Rock Springs 4-H Center with the support of dedicated supporters and donors has grown to the 735 acre property it is today nestled quietly in the scenic Flint Hills of Kansas..
