Detailed description is Cozy, family cabin on Mooselookmeguntic Lake, for select spring/summer rental.
This cozy cabin was towed across Mooselookmeguntic lake in 1954 and reassembled by renowned Maine Guide Norman Roberts and his wife, Ella.
There was no road to this area at the time, so Roberts cleared the land by hand, reassembled the cabin, created a unique gravity-fed water system from a spring on the mountain, and towed appliances across the ice in the winter to create this secluded retreat.
Much of Roberts' hand-carved woodwork is preserved, as is the working, hand-built fieldstone fireplace and outdoor fireplace/grill..

Despite the advent of phone and electricity to the area in the 1990s, Roberts' Hideaway remains a rustic retreat, nestled in the Appalachian Mountains on one of the best lakefront areas of Mooselookmeguntic lake.
A sandy beach and dock is perfect for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and small motor or sailboats.
