Elle est située sous le boulevard Richard-Lenoir, au sud du carrefour avec la rue Pelée.Le boulevard Richard-Lenoir honore le manufacturier français François Richard qui était l’associé de Joseph Lenoir-Dufresne.
À la mort de ce dernier, il adopta partiellement son nom en souvenir de la firme qu’ils avaient menée en commun et s’appela désormais « François Richard-Lenoir ».En 2011, sont entrés à cette station.
