CHORAL SPEECH IS: a blend of rhythm and rhyme, and is expressive group story telling through synchronized speech and body action.
Children will be taught and encouraged in putting their energy to good use by engaging in various rhythm, time, and vocal expression games.
They will learn a variety of musical terms and how to verbally express these through fun, repetitive activities.
These games will translate into expressive poetic rhymes and stories, and eventually incorporate body action as well.

Different methods of poetic literary applications will be discussed as a means to broaden their pool of self-expression.
Musical terms will be used in learning how to express one’s self effectively.

PRIVATE PIANO AND VOICE LESSONS: are taught in my private studio at a separate location from the CHORAL SPEECH and SPOKEN WORD classes.
Students of all ages and talents are welcomed into a warm, encouraging environment and taught how to read music notation, learn and apply music technical skills, including chording.
Each individual student is met solely where his/her musical talent and desire to learn begin.
Some students may desire to prepare and perform for the Mount Allison University Local Centre Pianoforte Examinations, at which time a music professor from the university travels to piano studios throughout the Atlantic provinces to critique and score piano grade levels.
Those piano students who earn the highest mark for their grade level are invited to perform in Brunton Auditorium at the Marjorie Young Bell Music Conservatory at the university in Sackville, N.B.
They also will receive an award.
Opportunities to attend the Mt.
Allison summer music camp are also available for those who qualify.
Some students may prefer to not participate in the exams..
