The Reid and Lail Karate School of Oyama was established by Kyokushin karate masters Coy Reid and Dale Lail in 1974.
Kyokushin master Darrell Wilson was trained directly under Mas Oyama, founder of Kyokushin Japan, and passed along the training and teachings to Masters Reid and Lail.
The Kyokushin training practised at the school range from point sparring, full contact sparring, free sparring (kumite), self defense training, concrete & wood breaking (tameshiwari), kata (pre-arranged forms), weapons training, and overall physical training.
The Karate School of Oyama has boasted many black belts and successful tournament fighters since its beginning.
Multiple full contact fighters and point sparring fighters have emerged from Kyokushin training at the school.
Fighters have competed in full contact tournaments with sparring equipment and in traditional bare knuckle Kyokushin ruled tournaments.
