I opened Redhare Gallery in May 2008.
The idea was to build a place where I could present great visual and musical art in an elegant, but unpretentious setting.
With walls of rough-cut cedar, black display walls and new carpet, I put together a warm room with a beautiful vibe.
The gallery was located in Astoria, the oldest American settlement west of the Mississippi, one block south of the Columbia River.

Since opening, we hosted dozens of great performers including Jefferson Airplane, Marty Balin, Alice Stuart, James Lee Stanley, John Batdorf, Freebo, Moe Dixon, and many more, on our world-class stage.
Great sound, lighting, amenities, and especially, an attitude of respect and appreciation for these talented people helped to spread the word fast within the musical community.
Redhare was featured on national television on an episode of the popular "Intervention" series, which was replayed several times due to its popularity..

Unfortunately, due to the ailing economy and limited audience in the small town of Astoria, the Redhare held its last show in December 2009.
It was a great sendoff featuring dozens of performances..

There remains thousands of great concert photos and hours of video and audio, which I will be gathering to create a book and DVD for release sometime in 2013.

After closing the Redhare, in 2009 I bought a 41' Hatteras motor yacht, moved aboard her, and relocated to beautiful Portland, Oregon to continue playing and promoting music.
After 2 years of establishing myself as a sideman and also getting my graphics business going again, I set sail back toward Astoria.
I now live on the quiet and bucolic John Day River, and continue to play keyboards, write, do graphic design and support live independent original music as much as I can.
And I still have a bifurcated uvula..
