Detailed description is Red Thorn Pursuit...where my passion for Jesus Christ and hunting meet.
The story behind Red Thorn Pursuit…it all started with my church's hunting league and trying to come up with a name for our team, not just any name but a name that would glorify God.
I love Jesus Christ and hunting and I wanted the name of our hunting team to reflect both.
Trying to come up with the right name was a challenge, so I began to ask God to give me a name.
That night I had a dream and in my dream I saw a buck with bloody velvet peeling off his horns.
In the next minute I saw Jesus walking towards me wearing a bloody crown of thorns on his head and blood was dripping down his face.
I immediately woke up and was trying to make sense of my dream.
When I fell back to sleep, I heard the name "Red Thorn".
In the morning, while still processing my dream, the words "Are you following the right blood trail?" came to mind.
What a great question for myself.
I get excited to follow the blood trail of a buck, elk, moose, or whatever else it is I am hunting.
But do I get equally excited about following the blood trail of Jesus Christ? I’d like to think yes, I do.
I now ask myself, as I get mixed up in life, am I following the right blood trail? .
