Beginning as a guitar duo between Kristian Wagner and Chris Rodgers, ROAM has blossomed into a hard hitting six piece, equipped with electric guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, and vocal harmonies galore.
After a year of playing with Alex and Alanna Munro as their percussion core, ROAM had to adjust in early 2014 as their married drummer favorites parted ways to prioritize family and the grown up life.
Even though everyone was sad to see them leave, it is sure to say that the Munro's are still thrilled to say that they were a pinnacle part in developing the ear catching ROAM sound, and releasing the debut EP, Kalendar in late 2013.
After several weeks in band limbo, the boys decided to jump into a massive band restructuring.
After playing alongside Layten Kramer and Sam Tudor at an intimate acoustic show downtown, they decided to join forces to rebuild the band to its previous strength.
After shuffling Rodgers onto drums (his lifelong, first instrument), and adding trumpeter Phil Austrum, ROAM is back as the six piece they always wanted to be.
With playful three part vocals, polyrhythms for days, and driving hooks, ROAM feels stronger than ever.
Having won UBC's Last Band Standing as their first show as ROAM 2.0 it is safe to say that they guys feel at home in the new constellation and ready to keep up the momentum for a productive and extremely exciting 2014.
