The Australian Railway Monument, dedicated in 2005, was built as a tribute to rail employees and the Memorial Walls carry the names of over 2,500 rail workers who lost their lives on the Australian railways since the 1850’s.
The landscaped monument area features six three metre stainless steel sculptures of railway workers created by Australian Artist Dominique Sutton as well as an amphitheatre for public concerts.

Also in the area is the Railway Pathway of Service honouring past and present railway workers, with a large plaque in honour of Mr Ben Chifley, past Prime Minister of Australia and train driver.
