Detailed description is Royal Air Force Station Ingham was a grass airfield, used mainly by No1 Group, Bomber Command, Royal Air Force and only ever existed during the Second World War.
The airfield lies some 15 miles due-north of the City of Lincoln, England.
The airfield and those who served from there had almost been forgotten in time.
in 2003, Geoff Burton, (the founding member), became fascinated by the airfield and its hidden history and started to research the airfield’s past..

This culminated in an Exhibition held on 1st May 2010 at Fillingham Village Hall.
The Exhibition received over 200 visitors that day and the interest from the local community was remarkable.
As a result, an enthusiastic group of local volunteers got together and formed the RAF Ingham Heritage Group on 25th November 2010.
Their aim is to preserve the memories and deeds of those who had served and flown from the airfield during the war years by renovating the mess hall and cook house on the site and eventually open to the public as a memorial and museum to the Polish aircrew and groundcrew of bomber command who fought and gave their lives for our country..
