My brother Donald Wayne Pratt moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1985.
He was always well known for his cooking skills.
While working in Scottsdale, he began the process of refining a salsa recipe that would produce the best salsa he had ever tasted.
After experimenting with several combinations of peppers and various other spices, he finally reached his goal..

Don derived much pleasure in making up a large batch and sharing it with family, friends and co-workers.

In late 1997 he was having unusual pain in his shoulder.
He visited a local doctor and was given some pain medication for treatment.
A short time later, Don discovered a nodule on his neck.
He went back to the doctor.
After some test were run, they found Oat Cell cancer and the doctor told him there was no cure for it.
In less than one year, the cancer took his life..

The day before he died, he gave the treasured salsa recipe to me his brother, Dennis W.
Pratt and my family.
He told us that we could do as we wished with it.
For almost 10 years, we would make a small batch and share with family friends.
Then as it had been with Don, the demand for the salsa continued to grow.
After much urging from the family, the decision was made to produce larger quantities and do test marketing.
The salsa was received extremely well by over 95% of those who tested it.
There were some that loved the salsa but it was just too hot for them.
The necessary adjustments were made and a medium and mild were added to the production schedule to meet the request of the customers.
The salsa’s wonderful flavor was retained by changing only the amount of the hot spices needed to achieve the mild and medium levels.
