Detailed description is Internationally acclaimed steelband comprised mainly of Northern Illinois University graduates that were a part of the NIU Steelband..Created during the summer of 2011 by Matt Potts to fill the void left after leaving Northern Illinois University and realizing that there were little to no opportunities to play in a steelpan ensemble, Potts & Pans is devoted to allowing panists the opportunity to continue growing.
As Artist in Residence with Culture, Arts & Music, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, the steelband helps bring more attention and draws interest to the organization.
The organization as a whole is about spreading pan knowledge and educating communities about the steelpan.
A steelband that is comprised of experienced musicians that strive for playing difficult music, arranging their own music, and commissioning new works.
