Detailed description is A gathering of all lovers of photography, professional and amateur.
Meets first and third Thursday each month.
What to expect.
The first time at Port Photography has no cost, subsequent visits we ask for club dues of $3.
(You can also pay quarterly, $30 for 12 weeks) This money goes toward club materials, model/speaker fees, and most excitingly, our Lending Library!.
Weekly Photo Challenge – reviewed and group critiqued at each meeting.

This has evolved to be a major part of our group.
The challenges help everyone involved experiment with photographic they may never have considered on their own.
We learn, gain experience, and grow as artists & photographers.

Live Shoots – every other week..
It is a chance to get HANDS ON with a new technique, equipment, etc.
Everyone that has brought their camera will be asked to participate.
Past Live Shoots have included model shoots, trick photography, style explorations, and special lighting setups.

Talks and tutorials about all things photography – presented by qualified gurus, scheduled or when time allows.

These presentations are a great opportunity to ask related questions.
Active participation is greatly appreciated and encouraged!.

Club outings to regional sites – outside regular meeting hours.

We will push ourselves creatively, making the most of the unique environment.
You may see people bring props, special outfits, and additional equipment..
Special Projects – outside regular meeting hours.

These are additional collaborations between several members, spanning weeks or more.
The images created are linked by a central theme.
For example there is an ongoing project called “Lighting Up Lockport.” It consists of unique & relevant images in front of local businesses and landmarks.
It’s done after dark with long exposures and light painting techniques.

Club Lending Library – photography equipment available to borrow at very low cost.

The fees are typically less than 5% of the purchase cost.
New experiences and practice is strongly encouraged, this is the club’s equipment bought with our combined dues and we’d like to see get as much use as possible.

YN-560III Speedlite, $3/week, RF-603c remote transceivers, $2/week.
