L’idée du projet du planchodrome de Dieppe fut amenée, en février 2008, par un groupe de jeunes de l’école secondaire Mathieu-Martin de Dieppe afin de combattre le tabagisme par l’entremise d’une activité saine et sportive.
Depuis, un comité exécutif fut créé regroupant, en plus des élèves initiateurs du projet, des intervenants issus de la communauté ainsi que des partenaires tels que : la Fédération des jeunes francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick; la Gendarmerie Royale du Canada; le District scolaire 1; l’école Mathieu-Martin; la Maison de Jeunes de Dieppe; la Ville de Dieppe; Entreprises du Grand Moncton; Santé Publique ainsi que des bénévoles..

The idea of a skatepark was introduced in February of 2008, within a group of students from Mathieu-Martin High school in Dieppe fighting against smoking.
Since then, an executive committee was created regrouping, along with the initiatory project students, participants from the community and important partners such as: la Fédération des jeunes francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick; Royal Canadian Mounted Policea; School District 1; Mathieu-Martin school; Dieppe Youth House; City of Dieppe; Enterprise Greater Moncton; Public Health along with volunteers.
