A distanza di 50 anni dalla prima donazione dell’olio su tela “Crocifisso” da parte del M° Cantatore (1965) finalmente si realizza l’auspicio che di suo pugno ha scritto sul retro della medesima opera: la costituzione di una pinacoteca comunale..
Dopo l’istituzione della Pinacoteca, avvenuta nel novembre 2014 in Consiglio Comunale, e dopo l’alacre lavoro del comitato tecnico-scientifico composto da autorevoli storici dell’arte, critici, studiosi di storia locale, architetti locali, si è giunti alla conclusione di un lungo periodo di studio e allestimento, durato circa due anni.

La Pinacoteca è costituite da 6 stanze, di cui una dedicata al M° Michele Chieco, 3 dedicate al M° Domenico Cantatore, una al Premio d’Arte “Città di Ruvo” tenutosi dal 1955 al 1967, ed una dedicata a documentazione fotografica originale del M° Cantatore.
La Pinacoteca è anche dotata di bookshop, sala conferenze ed un suggestivo atrio all’aperto, cornice ideale per eventi culturali.
I visitatori della Pinacoteca potranno fruire anche della lettura di alcuni scritti del M° Cantatore, di documenti storici originali, di fotografie che li accompagneranno lungo i corridoi nel passaggio tra le varie stanze..
