Detailed description is Photomarathon is a special photographic competition - over 9 hours, with 9 topics, take 9 pictures, and challenge your creativity.
A Photomarathon is a photography competition with a difference: you have 9 hours to take 9 photos on 9 topics.
It's not your physical condition that will get you through this marathon, but instead your sense of improvisation, fun and creativity (i.e.
no training required).

At 10am on the day of the Photomarathon, each entrant will have their camera and memory card checked and verified and then will be issued with the first set of 3 topics.
The next three hours are then theirs to shoot one image per topic, in the same order as the topics are listed.
The correct order is an absolutely essential part of the competition, and a big part of the challenge.
Three hours later at 1pm the next set of topics are released.
Each entrant must physically collect the set of topics from the CBD location, repeated again at 4pm for the last set of topics.
The HQ will then receive the completed entries - via direct download from your memory card - from 5pm until 9pm..
The topics will be kept secret until the day, and will be released three at a time every three hours.
Pretty much anything goes in terms of the topics, they may be a mixture of existential ideas, simple forms, or basic objects.

Following the Photomarathon event, the nine image portfolios of each entrant will be assessed by our panel of judges.
Winners will chosen for both best overall portfolio and best individual topic, and will be announced at a prize giving on the opening night of the exhibition.
This free public exhibition will be held in Melbourne’s CBD, and will showcase every single entrant’s work, no matter of age, ability, experience or technical equipment.
