Lisans eğitimine 2003–2004 öğretim yılında ilk öğrencilerini alarak başlayan bölümümüz, ilk mezunlarını Haziran 2007 yılınde vermiş olup; dinamik, sorunlardan korkmadan üzerlerine gidip çözümler üretebilen, bilgilerini daima taze tutan ve gelişmeleri yakından izleyen, dünya standartlarını yakalamış Bilgisayar Mühendisi yetiştirmeyi amaç edinmektedir.
Bölümümüz, Yüksek Lisans eğitimine ise 2002–2003 öğretim yılından bu yana devam etmektdir..

Kendi konularında uzman eğitmen kadrosu ve her öğrenciye bir bilgisayar sloganı ile eğitime başlayan Bilgisayar Mühendisliği Bölümü, uygulamalı derslerin tamamını laboratuar ortamında yapmakta olup, ders saatleri dışında öğrencilerin öğrendiklerini tekrar edebilmeleri, ödevlerini ve projelerini yapabilmeleri için bölüm laboratuarlarında 7 gün 24 saat serbest çalışma olanağı sunmaktadır..

30 kişilik küçük sınıflarda yapılan eğitim, öğretim üyelerine her öğrenciyi daha yakından tanıma fırsatı verdiği gibi, öğrencilerin de istedikleri zaman öğretim üyelerine ulaşabilme imkanını sağlamaktadır.
