Pazar, Karadeniz bölgesindeki Rize'nin bir ilçesidir.
Rize'nin 37 km doğusundadır.TarihMÖ 64 yılında Pompeius tarafından Athena adıyla kurulmuştur.
İlçenin eski ismi Yunanca bir sözcüktür; akıl güzellik ve hikmet anlamına gelmektedir.1928 yılına kadar Atina olan ilçenin adı, bu tarihte "Pazar" olarak değiştirilmiştir.
