The Paul Smiths-Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department (PSGVFD) was formed in 1979.
The first fire station was located on Paul Smith’s College’s campus next to the maintenance building on the East side.
It was a one-story shed with little in it; there was just enough room for the fire truck.
