Paul started remodeling old houses & apartment buildings with his uncle when he was 12 years old.
With the help of that same uncle, he bought his first rental property, a house that needed repairs, when he was a junior at West Central High School.
By the time he was in his early 20’s he owned five rental houses.
From there he worked his way into the construction business, starting Paul Nelsen Construction Inc.
in 1985.
Paul was named President of the Home Builders Association in 2000 and Builder Member of the Year in 2001.
He has also received numerous Parade of Homes awards throughout his career.
Paul is a Board Member of the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire and also a Board Member of the National Association of Home Builders and sits on two National committees including the Construction Liability & Risk Management Committee and the Construction Safety & Health Committee..

Nick has been working a long side his dad in the construction business since he was 10 years old.
Nick graduated from West Central High School in 2008 and decided to pursue a degree in construction management.
He graduated from STI with a degree in construction management and joined Paul Nelsen Construction Inc.
in 2010, bringing along the knowledge and education to expand the business and take it to the next level.
