Die BCF-Arena ist eine Eishalle in Freiburg im Üechtland und das Heimstadion des Schweizer Eishockeyclubs Fribourg-Gottéron.GeschichteDie Eishalle wurde 1983 erbaut und fasste damals 7'720 Zuschauer.
Schon im ersten Jahr des Bestehens war die Halle das erste Mal ausverkauft, seither wurde diese Marke 60 mal erreicht, davon allein 25 mal in der Saison 2009/10.
Seit der Saison 2010/11 trägt die Eishalle den Namen BCF-Arena, da die Freiburger Kantonalbank (Banque Cantonale de Fribourg) die Namensrechte der Eishalle für drei Jahre übernommen haben.Die Vorrundenspiele der Eishockey-Weltmeisterschaft 1990 wurde zum Teil in der Patinoire de St.
Léonard ausgetragen.
2004 wurden in das bestehende Bauwerk Logen und VIP-Räume eingebaut, so dass die Zuschauerkapazität auf 7'144 sank, davon 2'109 Sitz- und 5'033 Stehplätze.
Ein weiterer Einbau von Logen und die Erweiterung der Sitzplatzkapazität wurde 2009 durchgeführt.
Dadurch sank die Zuschauerkapazität auf 7'000, davon 2'200 Sitzplätze.
Auf die Spielzeit 2010/11 hin wurden nochmals zusätzliche Sitzplätze auf Kosten von Stehplätzen installiert.
Dies reduzierte die maximale Zuschauerkapazität zunächst auf 6'900 Plätze und eine Spielzeit später um weitere 100 Plätze auf 6'800.
