Starting around age 11, Pat Fontes took interest in early house & garage music, listening to tapes he found in his local Portuguese market and would end up gravitating towards some of the underground sounds of Lisbon which began the musical adventure Pat is still on until this day.
From those early influences, Pat would then start buying more vinyl than he could afford as they were the only outlet he could find tracks or mix tapes with the sound he preferred.
By age 14, Pat’s eyes were opened to new music he had no idea even existed, developing an addiction to music he has been feeding ever since.
Pat made it a point while listening to listen to what artists were doing with certain tracks so he could refine his technique and obtain his own mixing style on his Technics 1200’s and “crappy Radio Shack mixer” as he would recall.
Starting up as just a teenager in the early 90s, Pat would soon learn that his addiction and love for music would become not just a hobby but a lifestyle, fueled by passion, inspiration, and love..

At age 16 Pat got his first gig.
Being one of the youngest to be playing out he credits the advice and guidance of older veterans surrounding him to help him shape himself as an artist in creative process and beyond.
Since then Pat has a long list of credentials and accomplishments and has flourished as a staple in the New England nightlife industry as well as playing out in Miami, New York, LA, Boston, and Providence, just to name a few.
In 2001 at the age of 21 he had his first releases, still available on vinyl and digital and began being really exposed to the industry, working with some of the biggest names in techno.
Through this, he also has played some of the most legendary clubs in Boston such as Avalon, Axis, and RISE After-hours, just to name a few.
Aside from DJing, he has been very well accomplished in implementing different aspects of music and the music industry.
Being the manager and resident of one of Boston’s longest running weekly’s, Midweek Techno at the Phoenix Landing, working hand in hand with now top charting DJs, Soul Clap.
Pat also owned his own record store, Satellite Records that provided artists 1931102_512351816440_1149_nwith only the best selection in vinyl.
After a successful run he closed the doors of Satellite Records in 2006 and toured Europe, bringing his sounds overseas, being influenced by the dance music culture and vibe to only make himself even more established in his own sound and creativity.
Since then he has proven to be more than consistent in impacting crowds with his music as he has stayed consistent and relevant in the industry for the right reasons..

In present day when asked about his goal as an artist Pat says, “As an artist now my goal would be to expose people to sound they may not normally hear through my own personal style in sound manipulation with refined hybrid sets that include production alongside with conventional DJing.” He also expressed to us how he wants 529638_401683703262643_1663388080_n.jpgto see the world and all of his friends play music and leave a mark on crowds, strangers, lovers, and the world through music.
Pat is moved and inspired by touching people emotionally through his music weather is a good cry, laugh, or endless nights of dancing he is forever grateful he can impact people in such profound ways.
In three words he describes his sound as “Atmospheric Ear Candy” and anyone who has heard him play can certainly agree.
Recently Pat was diagnosed as ALS and when asked about how it has empowered him as an artist this is his response.
We wanted to keep his response completely organic and raw, as many people would let this put them at a disadvantage, Pat is looking at the more positive side of things..

“It has impacted me immensely….
my emotions run much deeper than I could imagine and I’ve been learning how to leverage this as a creative influence.
Unlike some, I’m pretty sure I have a general good idea how I’m going to die and as sad as that sounds it’s my driving force right now.
People state that I’ve accomplished so much and call me a legend which I sometimes laugh about and I have and will still remain true to myself.
I haven’t stopped doing what I love for 21 years and I will continue till I physically can’t and have since left my mark on this world of music and beyond.
if anything it’s a wake up call that I should do what I love as long as I can and pour my heart and soul into it.
My diagnosis has made it harder to do certain fundamental things but I’m learning how to cope and still perform at the highest level”.
