In the year 1994, a young, frail woman with a broken hand single-handedly (literally) increased the sales of a then famous sports equipment company, nearly 5 fold at an exhibition held by her husband's advertising company.
All she'd gone there for, was to spend time with her husband.
Just in a few hours, lo, a Citibanker had found a new love - sales.
Rejecting an offer from the baffled sports equipment company, this banker left her comfortable job with Citi.
Then, with her ever supportive husband and her two young children, she moved to Bangalore-the then newly formed business city.
With no money in their pockets, in an unknown city, a need to be their own bosses, and a talent in sales that had materialised from nowhere, this couple started a small 100 sq.
ft store in Indiranagar called Pari's Haute Couture..

Now known as the Kalpana Rao and Suresh Rao of Pari's, they created a specialty store that deals in natural, environmentally friendly dyes.
This concept store brings to you Indian and Indo-Western wear in the form of mix and match kurtas, kurtis, salwars, chudidars, drawstrings, skirts, and the list just goes on.
With 600 printers in Gujarat - printing their fabrics by hand, Pari's has always had and will always have a wide array of fabrics and colours to offer in all sorts of sizes- another reason for our popularity..

In 2000, Pari's expanded to a 150 sq.
ft space and soon had such a high demand for the quality products that we expanded into the posh residential area of Jayanagar with a 1000 sq.
ft store.
In 2006, we expanded into Church Street on the CBD and established ourselves as the Church Street ‘Corner Store’.
With our loyal customers and hardworking employees, Pari's was at her all time glory when Mrs.
Rao got an offer from IIM'S MPWE (Management Programme for women Entrepreneurs) to study a short summer course there in 2008.
Following this, she created a business plan for a project, placing first at the end of the year for her idea.
Taking her business plan seriously, Mrs Rao introduced Indiandised Maternity and Nursing wear.
Based on the problems she faced as a young, pregnant mother, she created her garments with special features.
Features like concealed and discreet feeding options within garments to garments that could be used by the carrying mother much after she's delivered, bearing in mind our 'no wastage' policy.
As we specialize in natural dyes, hand-prints and hand-wovens there is no way in which any harm can come to either mother or baby from our fabrics.
