Detailed description is Ohio Kids for Creativity Region 1 is the sponsor of the Destination ImagiNation program in Northeast Ohio, Mahoning, Trumbulll and Ashtabula Counties.
Region 1 is a subsidiary of Ohio Kids for Creativity (OKC) an organization dedicated to assisting the parents and schools in teaching our kids techniques for creative thinking..

The Region 1 Board is responsible for the operations of Region 1 OKC.
Originally composed of Gifted Coordinators of the school districts in the 3 county area, as the School Districts have dropped Gifted programs, we are increasingly made up of parents who have kids in the program or had kids in the program, Team Managers, and past Team Managers..

The Board meets Monthly from August thru May.
For the last couple years we’ve been meeting 2nd Tuesday each month at Denny’s Restaurant on Belmont Ave.

Prior to 2001-2002 season, our area was part of OKC Region 15.
But with over 150 teams at the 2001 Regional Tournament, it was decided to split Region 15 into 2 Regions and Region 1 was born..
