The name O’Callahan's comes from Dan’s mother’s side of the family.
Darby Callahan, who was Dan’s great, great, great, great grandfather was born in Cork, Ireland in 1717.
He came to America as a young boy and settled with relatives in Halifax, VA.
He had left Ireland due to the starvation conditions during the great potato famine to find a better life.
Most of the Callahans reside in Maryland today..

Dan comes from a large family of nine brothers and sisters.
Two of Dan’s sisters, Piper and Elizabeth reside in Mocksville as well.
They were all brought up with the same values as Darby, maintaining close relationships and valuing time with family and friends.
Dan also has a large family and is the proud husband and father of five children, several of whom are very active in local sports.
You can usually catch Dan and his wife Beth cheering on the teams at the games.
