O projeto surgiu da visão do ambientalista Miguel Milano e foi criado pelos jornalistas Marcos Sá Corrêa, Kiko Brito e Sérgio Abranches.
Entrou no ar em agosto de 2004.
Nesses 11 anos de estrada, fechou 2015 com a produção de um conjunto de 27 mil reportagens, notícias, ensaios fotográficos, vídeos e podcasts..
