Our story is still very much just getting started.
Having purchased the property in February 2017, we have one season of operation behind us.
Originally from the Niagara Region, we were looking for a different path in our lives and knew that Northern Ontario would be a great place to start this new chapter.
While scouting the property and researching into the different options for summer vacations or a weekend away, we realized we wanted to create something that truly focuses on families.
The French River is the perfect spot to do that..

This is a sentiment we truly believe in.
As everyone’s lives get busier and families are always on the go, we understand the need to relax.
This past summer, I had a father of a boy tell me that when they got to the cottage and his son sat on the couch he asked his dad, “Where’s the TV?”.
His dad pointed out the window towards the majestic French River and said, “That’s your TV.” We loved hearing this and the child’s father couldn’t be more correct.
You won’t find satellite television or Wifi at our place.
What you will find, though, is beautiful sunrises, peaceful surroundings, and loons calling out in the distance..

At North Channel Cottages we are thrilled to offer free use of our paddleboards, kayaks and canoes for the duration of your stay; we also offer weekly crafts for all ages of children.
Since the French River has an abundance of game fish, we have three (3) fully equipped boats to rent and a pontoon boat available if the whole family wants to explore the river.
