Our Mission.
The North Broad Youth Center will serve as a Fountain of Hope for Youth in the community and will offer resources to help them face and overcome daily challenges.

Reaching youth and young adults through Spiritual Enrichment, Literacy, Education, Creative Arts, Fine Arts, Fitness and Life Lessons..
Who We Are.
A diverse, multi-talented Board of Directors, Board of Advisors, Staff and Volunteers that will provide direct service, improvement opportunities and mentorship for young people enrolled in our program.
The Youth Center has full-time staff members to guide, lead, and coordinate with program staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are operating within our Guidelines & Practices.
A part-time Staff and Youth Workers provide mentorship, leadership, and implements program activities..

Our fully-equipped youth center includes classroom space, meeting rooms, computer lab, library, music room, arts and craft room, activity and game room and an outdoor play area.
The North Broad Youth Center will provide year-round activities for youth in our communities.

Our Programs.
The North Broad Youth Center will operate distinct programs that will support learning and continual enrichment especially in the areas of Math, Literacy and Spirituality.
We will focus on providing technology, training and mentorship in an effort to promote Youth Development, Leadership Skills, Etiquette and Community Involvement..

Youth Center Hours of Operation:.
• Youth and Pre Teen Monday thru Friday 3:30pm until 6:30pm.
• Summer Enrichment Programs and Activities will be scheduled during Summer Months between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm.
• Special Outreach Programs and Activities will be scheduled on Saturday between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00 pm (hours may vary slightly according to the special activity).
Activities.
The center shall provide a variety of daily activities appropriate for the chronological age and developmental levels.
Opportunities for each child to make choices from a variety of activities shall be offered.
Activities shall be planned for each group to allow for:.
Indoor/Outdoor Play.
• A balance of Quiet and Active Periods.
• Music/Performance such as but not limited to listening, singing, dancing or making music.
• Creative Movement such as but not limited to theatre, performance and exhibitions.
• Arts and Crafts such as but not limited to painting, coloring, cutting and pasting.
• Indoor activities will include but not limited to Table and Board games, table tennis, video and computer games.
• Outdoor activities will be provided daily “weather permitting”.
Those activities will include but not limited to Basketball, Football, Soccer, Baseball/Softball, Volleyball, Tennis and Social time..
• Small and Large Group Team Building Activities will also be provided and will include but not limited to Bible Study, Role Playing, Character Building, Etiquette and Life-skills.
• Media Activities will include Movies that have been approved and rated by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) as suitable for General Audiences which includes young children.
Movies that have not been rated but have been “fully” previewed and approved by the Director and at least one other Board Member who have determined that the movies are age appropriate will also be shown.
• Other forms of media that may be utilized but not limited to are television, computer games and other computer software of an age appropriate nature.
A balance of Supervised, free choice and mandatory directed activities will also be provided which consist of but not limited to Counseling, Mentorship and Spiritual Enrichment.

Criteria for Admission.
Potential members shall be selected using the following criteria:.
AGE.
• Phase I of acceptance will be specifically designed for the acceptance of young males, between the ages of 6 and 12 years or 1st through 6th grade meeting the selection criteria without regard to race, color, creed or national origin.
• Phase II of acceptance will be specially designed for the acceptance of both male and female students between the ages 6 and 15 years or 1st through 8th grade meeting the selection criteria without regard to race, color, creed or national origin.
SCHOOL PERSONNEL RECOMMENDATION.
• Local Elementary and Middle School personnel will be provided the appropriate documentation which will allow a student to be identified as “AT RISK”.
These “AT RISK” areas include but are not limited to the areas of Academics, Social and Emotional Well Roundedness, Abuse, Neglect or Latch Key Children.
School personnel will also be given the opportunity to make recommendations based on personal insight and thoughts towards any students that may be a qualified applicant for the Youth program.
CLERGY PERSONNEL RECOMMENDATION.
• Local Clergy and Church personnel will be provided the appropriate documentation which will allow them to make a recommendation for a child that they have identified to be “AT RISK”.
These “AT RISK” areas include but not limited to the areas of Spiritual and Emotional Well Roundedness, Abuse, Neglect or Latch Key Children.
Church Clergy and personnel will also be given the opportunity to make recommendations based on personal insight and relationships that would support recommending a student to be a qualified applicant for the Youth program.
Prior to acceptance all recommended students along with their Parent/Parents or Guardians will be required to go through an “Interview Process”..
• Upon the receipt of Student Recommendation letters and profiles form School or Clergy Personnel the students will go through the “Interview Process”.
• The “Interview Process” will consist of meetings with but not limited to members of the Board of Directors, Executive Director and Staff of Coordinators.

• This process will allow the Board of Directors, Executive Director and Staff of Coordinators to properly screen prospective students and parents and/or guardians based on ability to openly communicate their personal desire to become part of the mentoring program..
