Detailed description is Family run buisness In 1920 Jeremiah Nichols purchased48 acres of land from Edgar Plamer.
Little did they know that some years later their families would come togetheragain for a marriage.
Craig Nichols prouldly called these farmers Great-Grandad.
The farm expanded in 1927 to include 60 acres of land in Factorydale.
Horses managed all of the farm work until 1953 when the first tractor was purchased.
Hogs and poultry set up house in converted cattle barn.
In the 1960's the farm grew again to include some of the first high bush blueberries ever planted in Nova Scotia.
Since then 70 acres of land have been reclaimed and replanted with semi-dwarf and high denity orchard, a new hog facilityhas been construced and raspberries planted for U-pick and commercial use.
The family farm now consists of 400 acres of wood and farmland and each year produces 2 million poundsof apples, 6000 pounds of raspberries, 10 000 pounds of blueberries and ships 4000 hogs and 32 000 starter pullets..
