Many months of planning, research, and hard-work culminated in the launching of New England School of Music (NESOM) in mid-2008 as an educational and cultural organization based in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
Allow us to share with you our vision, goals, and current curricula offerings.

International Platform for Musicians: NESOM is committed to serving as a platform for eminent musicians from India and countries around the world.
We invite artists in residence and extend them the opportunity to perform, offer classes, teach and share their unique Indian musical lineages with local community and throughout the United States.
NESOM promotes Indian Classical musicians and fosters an appreciation of Indian Classical music through concert tours, “stand-alone” performances, classes, lectures, seminars, and exhibits in the United States .

NESOM’s Certificate Program in Tabla includes a course curriculum in practical and theory, periodic examination schedule, and accreditation under the aegis of the prestigious Gandharva Mahavidyalay in India (recognized by the Government of India).

Drawing on the incredible repertoire of this musical heritage and with commitment to nurturing its future, we have established NESOM to be one of the harbingers of Indian Classical music in the United States.

Solidarity with Cancer Patients: One of our cherished missions is to offer a caring touch to those fighting cancer.
We are committed to offering support to cancer patients who may need assistance or are unable to pay for necessary treatments and care – regardless of age, gender, creed, or nationality.
To this end, NESOM will conduct fundraising through music concerts and festivals.
We will also provide research opportunities for Indian Classical musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds and scientists seeking to explore the possibilities that music – vocal and instrumental – may provide for creating an environment which fosters increased speed of healing, decreased need for prescription medications, and promotes overall well-being for those of us living with cancer.
