Detailed description is The -2+ project is a collection of World Class Musicians who with the vision of JB, -2+ frontman, are ready to release their debut box-set CD.
A hard hitting, powerful throw back when Rock was King.
Check out the upcoming release of LoseYouSelf I & II The -2+ project started in the spring of 2016.
JB, song-writer/vocalist/guitarist for Sacred Souls had spoken to Kevin Holycross (Holycross Productions) about some of the turmoil he was dealing with inside the band.
Kevin, had instructed him to think about going solo & he could help him if he wanted.
What JB did not count on was the project taking on a life of its own..

When JB started recording it appears as though the pieces fell together on their own as if by fate.
His long-time friend and fellow artist Joe Viers joined as co­producer/bass player/harmonies and helped JB find the necessary talent to take the project to the next level and beyond..

Holycross suggested Kanky Lora, of (Soulfly/Marc Rizzo Band/Straight Line Stitch), a personal friend and who he worked with on separate occasions.
He thought Kanky would be perfect fit for some of JB's music so recommended he do at least 1 song with Kanky.
JB agreed he would try to see what kind of sound the 2 artists could create together.
JB had then called Joe and asked if he would play bass on the track, Viers said he'd be happy too.
Joe had also recommended one of his friends to play a song on the album Adam Gilbert of (Starset).
So, JB thought that was a great idea.
The first song was with Kanky and that song was "Little White Lie." Joe had then set up a session with Adam to play the song "This Is Where I'll Be" after having both recordings from both drummers JB realized that he was in the company of musical geniuses and the sound was amazing.
JB then had a crazy idea, because he does have a library of music and when I say library I mean LIBRARY! His idea was to do a 20 song boxset and do 10 with Adam & 10 with Kanky.
Joe thought that it was a crazy idea, lol ...
But jumped on board anyway tho, cuz of his belief in JB's song writing ability.
JB then got the sign off from both drummers and the project would then begin to take form.
I heard originally JB wanted long-time friend & Amazing Guitarist Keith Whalen original member of (Sacred Souls) rumor has tho schedules didn't work out so, JB had to turn to Joe to help fund the right Guitarist for this project to play the solos ...
Viers had recommended virtuoso Guitarist Chris Steberl, he was suggested as the perfect lead guitarist for the project.
His ultra-­amazing ability to shred his "Cookie Monster" Fender Strat set the stage for him playing the perfect solo for each song..

So, a couple of songs quickly turned into an epic, 20 song box set.
A huge accomplishment for any solo artist.
JB was so excited about the project he was sometimes writing a song a day.
I attended one session in February of 2017 as he was finishing the album in which JB/Joe/Chris recorded "Got What You Need" from start to finish in one session.
He had sent a scratch track to Kanky to lay his drum tracks down, so that was what he started with.
Within a couple of hours "Got What You Need" fell together beautifully.
And after Chris put his shreddingly magic solo on it, it was added to the album and to the list of potential first singles off of the new album..

So, the -2+ project is a great story of an artist looking to expand his musical horizons.
To better his craft with music that has a sorely needed positive theme in today's national radio.
The result is one Incredibly Brilliant, some may even say "Grammy Award Winning" Kick A%# rock and roll albums.
