"The A-Team" was created by Stephen J.
Cannell and Frank Lupo based on a pitch by then-NBC President Brandon Tartikoff for a show that combined "The Road Warrior," "The Dirty Dozen" and "Mission: Impossible" with Mr.
T driving the car.
The series follows the exploits of a "crack commando unit" that becomes soldiers of fortune known as The A-Team after escaping from the maximum-security prison they were sent to for a crime they didn't commit.
On the run from the military, they are heroes for hire, and "if you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.".
