Established in 1949 as East Pakistan Christian Council (EPCC) in the year 1949.
After the emergence of sovereign Bangladesh in 1971, the Christian leaders of EPCC in a meeting renamed EPCC as National Council of Churches-Bangladesh (NCCB), and in Bangla the name accepted as Jatiya Church Parishad, Bangladesh (JCPB)..
NCCB, the Ecumenical Fellowship of Churches works for the greater Unity in Diversity to promote Faith, Witness and Services towards a just, humanitarian and peaceful World.
Today NCCB brings together 13 Protestant denominational Churches and 7 Christian Organizations/Associations with more than One Million Christians all over the Country, including close functional relationship with Roman Catholics and other bodies..
