Detailed description is Musée ouvert du 4 mars au 26 novembre 2017.
Le musée de la mine est implanté sur l’ancien site minier d’exploitation de pyrite de fer et de cuivre de Saint-Pierre-la-Palud.
Exploitée dès le Moyen Age pour le cuivre, la mine connut son essor de 1840 à 1972, année de fermeture, avec l’extraction de la pyrite de fer riche en soufre.
Elle fut à l’origine de l’industrie chimique lyonnaise..
