It is through this ambition and success that inspired the entrepreneurial spirit of his son, Brendan Sciarra, who’s vison has launched several keystone business’s on the island of Wildwood, NJ.
In 1998, Brendan took over a then failing restaurant/bar and with his detailed approach and hands on philosophy, seemingly handcrafted the Dogtooth Bar & Grill into the island’s most noteable establishment and local favorite.
Even with a relentless approach to expanding his brand, the Dogtooth maintains firm to it’s roots, evident by the surf board from his father’s original surf shop hanging in the restaurant..

Once again, with a recognition and desire to enhance the city of Wildwood and it’s economic state, Brendan’s vision proved spot on when he purchased the building across from the Dogtooth, in what is now established as Poppi’s Brick Oven.
After months of reconstruction, a beautiful facelift, and extensive training on the exact science of Napolitan style pizza making by world renowned Giulio Adriani, Poppi’s has become one of the fastest growing restaurants on the island.

Vision, being Brendan’s most prominent trait, accelerated a dream that he had carried with him for many years.
Upon recognizing a property for sale at 127 W.
Rio Grande Avenue, in Wildwood, he quickly made a decision to move forward with 5 Mile Brewing Company, a complete brewing and distribution facility, full service bar and restaurant.
Months of countless research hours, inquiries and obstacles, as well as meeting great people along the way, have assisted in gaining knowledge and understanding of the capabilities this brewery posseses and how it will be able to provide the highest quality crafts imaginable.
Leaning on the philosophy that proved successful at his other businesses, Brendan has hired one of the most globally recognized and award winning brewing consultants, Scott Morrison, to oversee and train his master brewers on evey last detail of this process and to ensure that it meets the standard that has become expected of a Sciarra establishment..

Scott began brewing professionally in 1993.
His storied career started at New England Brewing and Elm City Brewing in CT.
He started up McKenzie Brewhouse in 2001, and later Malvern in 2006.
He also restarted the second incarnation of Dock Street Brewery in West Philly, and rebuilt the General Lafayette into Barren Hill Brewery.
Over the years, he has received 7 Great American Beer Festival medals, and two World Beer Cup Medals.
Now working as a brewery consultant, he works with start-up breweries, and existing breweries.
Scott also judges for the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup.
