Detailed description is Michigan State University’s Jewish Studies Program introduces students to the history, religion, culture and civilization of the Jewish people, with special attention to the last 150 years.

MSU's Jewish Studies courses survey Jewish life and culture(s) from ancient Israel to Europe, the United States, and modern Israel.
Special emphases are on the transition from Europe to two post-Holocaust centers of Jewish life in North America and in the Middle East; on antisemitism and the Holocaust, on modern Hebrew, on American Jewish and Israeli literatures and cultures, and on Judaism and Jewish thought.
Students may take Jewish studies courses to satisfy requirements in their major programs or to complete a specialization (20 credits) in Jewish Studies.
