Detailed description is .Bilal Duckett and Matt Gold both feel blessed living out their dreams as professional soccer players for the Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC.
With these blessings come responsibilities and obligations to serve the global community when opportunities arise: “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another.” 1 Peter 4:10.

At the conclusion of the season this December, these two will travel to Haiti to minister the Word of God and attempt to bring joy to children, young adults, and elders alike in a broken community using the international appeal of soccer.
Haiti has been victim to a history of political corruption and economic unrest as well as an earthquake claiming upwards of 250,000 lives in 2010.
While relief money has poured in from all over the world, the recovery process has been slower than intended.
Bilal and Matt will connect with a local church in the Haitian capital Port au Prince and after the island of Lagonove to run daily soccer camps for kids and help the local pastors teach the youth about the person of Jesus Christ.
They will also visit orphanages during their visit, delivering supplies to the refugees such as t-shirts, soccer balls, and anything we can get our hands on to enhance their quality of life.
It is our mission not only to leave the Haitian community with a positive soccer experience but to exemplify a hope in something greater than the turmoil in Haiti: a hope that is attainable through the life of Jesus Christ.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to be involved as well.
While not everyone’s lives permit such adventures, everybody can still participate by donating to the cause.
The trip will cost $1300 per player making the trip.
These expenses consist of airfare, accommodations, and food for the entire trip (December 2-9).
Any donations exceeding the costs of the trip will be put directly toward supplies for the local Haitian community.

As a Christian athlete, Bilal feels that it is very important to use his time to give back the global community. Off the field, Duckett considers himself a technology enthusiast. Matt Gold: A Texas native of San Antonio, Matt was a member of the St. Stephen's Soccer Academy in Austin before attending the The Ohio State University. Majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Spanish, his Buckeyes claimed two Big 10 Championships and were National Finalists over four seasons before being drafted by Toronto FC in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. Matt's Christian roots stem from a church-going home and Kanakuk Kamps based in Branson, Missouri. Reinforced in college by Athletes In Action, an international college and pro sports ministry, Matt developed a heart for serving others and using professional athletics as a platform to show others there is a hope in life far greater than personal success and happiness. Off the field Gold enjoys staying active, wake and snowboarding in particular, and playing guitar. On the intellectual side he prefers Christian and motivational literature, Men's Health, and tries to maintain his Spanish studies.
