The Studio was founded in 2005 by Christina Ownby (Vicereine Marie), a Virginia native and a Sophomore college student.
While studying Graphic Design she acquired clients by cold-calling numbers in the phone book.
In 2008, Christina graduated .
Virginia Commonwealth University with her BFA in Graphic Design.
Still using her phone call method she landed her first applicable job at a Fine Art Reproduction printer.
While learning the digital printing process she took on clients design problems and offered artists marketing tools to better sell their art.
By 2010 she was managing that same shop and getting the local community involved with monthly lectures, contests, and art shows.
