Detailed description is The purpose of the Jones County Junior College Army National Guard (MSARNG) Magnolia Guard Officer Leadership Program (GOLD) Program is to provide a campus based commissioning program for the purpose of recruiting and training perspective officers, conducting enlisted accession recruiting activity, and maintaining a visible and positive relationship between the MSARNG and the supporting community college.
The Jones County Junior College Mississippi Magnolia GOLD program will not award degrees, but rather qualify students to become Commissioned Officers into the Mississippi Army National Guard (MSARNG) upon graduation at any senior college offering the Reserves Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program.
An application of leadership skills with an emphasis on: beliefs, values, ethics, counseling techniques, map reading, land navigation, basic first aid, and group interaction.
Students will explore dimensions of leadership attributes and core leader competencies in the context of practical, hands-on, and interactive exercises.
Considerable attention is also placed on improving physical fitness.
