Brief History of Medicine Club,Central Unit:.
Medicine club is an academic cum social organization that has been serving the humanity by their social and educational activities for the last 32 years.The dream regarding the formation of this renowned club was based upon the urge of sharing the practical basis of the vast knowledge of medicine amongst the medical students.
The idea came forth by a group Mymensingh Medical College students who all agreed in a meeting at the library hall of MMC to launch this dream into reality.
Thus medicine club was inaugurated on January 31st ,1981 with only 32 highly energetic members to build an promising enlightened future..

Medicine club was started initially as an academic organization.When it was observed that many patients seeking care to the government tertiary hospitals are not capable of affording the huge cost of necessary drugs on managing emergency basis blood requirements, the club executives widened their focus to form the "patients welfare project" on 10th January,1984.
By the project they aimed to come beside the poor and perform their social responsibilities as medical students.
And later, the aim came to a success..
SOMC Unit:.
Medicine club,SOMC unit was established on 23rd August 1994, to serve the humanity.
Program on Hep-B vaccination & project on Thalassaemia started from 2003 in this unit.
Very recently,blood donation program,health camp & vaccination program,blood grouping program & seminars regarding World Health Day & Thalassaemia Day was arranged successfully by this unit.
The unit also working hard to increase social awareness among common people.
