godine u Sarajevu.
Živela je u jednom malom mestu Malešići koje pripada opštini Ilijaš nedaleko od Sarajeva do 1995.
godine.
Sa svojim bratom i majkom seli se u Bratunac gde se školuje i pravi svoje prve muzičke korake.
Sa 12 godina počela je već da peva po mnogim diskotekama svakog vikenda sve do svoje 18.
godine.
Bilo je teško raditi i odrastati u isto vreme, ali drugačije nije mogla.
Dosta je godina trebalo da se konačno krene sa profesionalnom karijerom.
Pravo vreme je bilo 2006 godine kada je upoznala svog dečka koji joj je bio ogromna podrška pored svoje porodice da počne ozbiljnije da se bavi muzikom.

Godine 2007.
Maya izdaje svoj prvi album pod nazivom „Život uživo“ za koji su zaduženi bili poznati autori Marina Tucaković i Aleksandar Milić Mili.
Maya kao mlada pevačka nada je jedna od retkih kojoj je uspelo da na svom prvom albumu okupi najbolju ekipu saradnika u Srbiji, a verovatno i u regionu.
Uspeh je bio zagarantovan kao što se i očekivalo.
Promociju albuma počela je sa pesmom Zanosi, zanosi, a pored te pesme izdvojile su se još i "Džin i limunada", "100 dinara" i naslovna numera "Život uživo".
Za pesmu Džin i limunada snimljen je i video spot što je još više pomoglo da pesma postane ogroman hit po diskotekama.
U to vreme su je veoma često vezivali zbog pesama sa Svetlanom Cecom Ražnatović i nazivali je bosanskom Cecom što je Mayi moglo samo da imponuje, jer porediti vas sa najvećom muzičkom zvezdom na Balkanu može samo da vam bude čast, a bogami i velika odgovornost.
Naravno to nije bilo prvi put da su Mayu poredili sa nekom pevačicom.
Dešavalo se da Maya zapeva pesme Dragane Mirković na svojim nastupima i da publika ostane u čudu zbog prevelike sličnosti u glasu.
Sve u svemu Maya je ipak zbog svoje specifične boje glasa i dobrih pesama uspela je da na sebe skrene pažnju..
Već sledeće godine 2008 usledio je singl "Sedativ".
Tada je već publika znala Mayu i sve je nekako bilo lakše.
Ubrzo Sedativ je postao ogroman radijski hit.
Takođe i za ovu pesmu snimljen je video spot.
Tokom te cele 2008.
godine Maya je uspešno promovisala svoj novi singl, a pored te pesme prvi album se i dalje slušao.
Usledio je i kraj 2008.
godine i novi album pod nazivom "Crno zlato".
Naslovna numera najavljivala je novi album i nešto malo drugačiji fazon pesama.
Ovoga puta renomirani izdavač nije stajao iza albuma već Maya samostalno.
Glavni saradnici na albumu su ovoga puta bili Branislav Samardžić koji je bio zadužen za muziku i tekstove, a Dragan Kovačević Struja za aranžmane.
Promena se osećala, a Maya je dobila još jedan veoma slušan album.
Pored naslovne numere Crno zlato za koju je kasnije snimljen video spot izdvojile su se još i pesme "Djevojački san" , "Ni za sto godina" i prelepa pesma "Uspomene" koja je takođe dobila svoj video spot.
Uspesi i nagrade su se sve vise ređali, a Maya je sve više imala nastupa..
2009.
godine rešila je da obraduje svoju već tada ogromnu publiku sa novom pesmom pod nazivom „Koliko te ludo volim ja“.
Brza pesma koja vas tera na noge lagane mogla je samo postići veliki uspeh.
Tako je i bilo.
Nastala je kratka pauza od nekih godinu dana, i početkom 2011.
godine Maya kreće u promociju svog novog albuma sa pesmom „Laka meta“.
Album simbolicno nosi naziv "Maya 2011" i objavljen je za izdavačku kuću BN Music.
Sa albuma se izdvajaju dosta pesama, a najveći hit postaje sada već možemo slobodno reći ženska himna, pesma „Djevojačko prezime“ za koju je Maya i odradila spot u saradnji sa Harisom Dubicom (DjDajo Production).
Tu su još i pesme "Ženski mangup", "Voljela sam s tobom sve", "Kaldrma", "Amajlija", itd.
Sa ovim albumom Maya je dobila jos veću armiju fanova i jako puno nastupa, a sto je najbitnije učvrstila je svoje mesto na estradnom nebu i dobila još mnogo hitova.
U 2012.
godini krajem Juna objavila je novu pesmu pod nazivom „Leti ptico slobodno“ koja obara rekorde u slušanosti i po pregledima na YouTube.
Za dva meseca pesmu je pregledalo preko 2 miliona ljudi što je veoma velik uspeh za Mayu.
Početkom Oktobra 2012.
godine očekuje se i izlazak novog albuma..

Maya (Maja Berovic) was born on the 8th of July 1987 in Sarajevo.
Until 1995 she had lived in a small town of Malesici near Sarajevo.
With her mother and brother she moved to Bratunac where she went to school and started practising music.
When she was only twelve she had already started singing in local discoteques, every weekend until she turned eighteen.
Growing up and having to work was really hard so it took her a lot of time to start a professional music career.
In 2006 she met her boyfriend who along with her parents became a great support for her career..
Working with famous hitmakers, Marina Tucakovic and Aleksandar Milic Mili, Maya released her first album "Zivot uzivo" in 2007.
She was fortunate enough to work with the best music crew in Serbia, so her success was guaranteed.
She started promoting her album with "Zanosi, zanosi", but soon "Dzin i limunada", "100 dinara" and "Zivot uzivo" became great hits.
Making of video for "Dzin i limunada" helped her reach even more people with her music.
At that time she was often compared to Ceca, Dragana Mirkovic and other Serbian famous singers and even got a nickname Bosnian Ceca.
Although comparison with such great music stars was a compliment for her, she soon became famous for her specific voice and great songs.
Next year her new single "Sedativ" came out and became a hit on the radio.
She made a video for this song aswell.
During the whole 2008 Maya was successfully promoting her new album and the old one was still very popular and listened to.
By the end of 2008 a new album "Crno zlato" came out.
Maya, herself, was encharged of the new project which announced a slightly different style.
Branislav Samardzic was encharged of the music and lyrics and Dragan Kovacevic Struja of music arangements.
The change was obvious and Maya got another great album.
Along with "Crno zlato", songs "Djevojacki san", "Ni za sto godina" and "Uspomene" became very popular.
Rewards came and with them even more gigs for Maya.

In 2009 Maya decided to treat her audience with another great song, "Koliko te ludo volim ja".
This song couldn't be anything but success since it was very rythmical and great for dancing.
Afterwards came a small pause of not more than one year..
In the begining of 2011 the third album came out.
"Maya 2011" was recorded with the help of already acknowledged co-workers and a few new ones.
"Djevojacko prezime", "Amajlija" and "Zenski mangup" are the most promising songs on this album.
