La gran motivación que me ha acompañado desde mis primeros años de juventud es servir a la comunidad, primero a través de organizaciones de la sociedad civil buscando atender las distintas necesidades de los grupos más vulnerables, y después, entendiendo la política como sinónimo de servicio, hice el compromiso de participar de forma activa para así unir esfuerzos desde el sector público..
Esto nos llevó a colaborar en el área administrativa del Registro Estatal Electoral en 1991; en Sindicatura Municipal como parte del equipo de Responsabilidades de los Servidores Públicos, de 1992 a 1994; Secretario Privado y Secretario Particular del Alcalde de Tijuana, de 1995 a 1998; Secretario Técnico del Director General de la Comisión Estatal del Agua en Baja California, de 1998 al 2000; Regidor del XVII Ayuntamiento de Tijuana, en donde presidí la Comisión de Desarrollo Económico, del 2001 al 2004, tiempo el que también participé como miembro fundador de la Fundación UABC.
En el actual Gobierno del Estado asumí el cargo de Secretario Particular del Gobernador Lic.
José Guadalupe Osuna Millán, del 2007 al 2009..
Todo esto me ha permitido tener una perspectiva amplia de las actividades y necesidades económicas y sociales de Tijuana y Baja California, que me llevó a asumir hoy la responsabilidad de trabajar como Diputado de la XX Legislatura del Congreso del Estado..
En el Congreso, soy Presidente de la Comisión de Energía y Recursos Hidráulicos, Secretario de la Comisión de Asuntos Fronterizos, Comercio, Desarrollo y Fomento Económico e Industrial y Competitividad, Vocal de las Comisiones de Hacienda y Presupuesto y Fiscalización del Gasto Público..
