While attending Florida Atlantic University, she interned at WPBF-TV in West Palm Beach and was later offered a position as a reporter for that station..

After reporting for nearly 3 years in the town where she grew up, Martha was recruited by WTVJ-TV in Miami as a reporter, and eventually became an anchor.
She worked in South Florida for 10 years and then became the 4/5/6 & 11pm anchor for WESH 2 News in August 2006 until August 2014.
