Born in North Dakota, Mark Driscoll grew up the son of a union dry-waller in south Seattle.
After graduating from high school, he attended Washington State University on scholarship.
He became a Christian during his freshman year and graduated from WSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from the Edward R.
Murrow School of Communication.
He later completed a Master’s degree in Exegetical Theology from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon..

In 1998, when Pastor Mark was a 17-year-old high school student, a young woman named Grace gave him a nice Bible.
Mark, a non-practicing Catholic at the time, was born again reading that Bible in college.
