Detailed description is The Yagle Brothers Detachment of the Marine Corps League is composed of Marines and former Marines and FMF Corpsman with honorable service.
Thomas Yagle was the first U.S.
serviceman from the Grand Traverse Region of Michigan to be killed in Vietnam.
He was a Mortar man with the 2d Battalion, 9th Marines, 3d Marine Division, FMF.
He was killed in action on 16 April 1966, from multiple fragmentation wounds in Quang Nam Province of the Republic of South Vietnam.
He is listed on "The Wall" in Washington, DC, Panel 06E-Row 119.
He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City, Michigan.
