Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversitesi, 11 Temmuz 1992 tarihinde Manisa'da kurulan devlet üniversitesidir.TarihçeBir devlet üniversitesi olan Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversitesi 11 Temmuz 1992 tarihinde kurulmuş ve Manisa'da yükseköğretimin temelini oluşturan üç önemli okul ile eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerine başlamıştır.
Bu okullar 1975 yılında eğitime başlayan Ege Üniversitesi İktisadi ve Ticari Bilimler Fakültesi Muhasebe Ön Lisans Yüksekokulu, Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı’na bağlı üç yıllık Gençlik ve Spor Akademisi ve Demirci ilçesinde Öğretmen Lisesi bünyesinde kurulan Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı iki yıllık Eğitim Enstitüsü'dür.Üniversiteye 3.
Cumhurbaşkanı, Milli Mücadele yıllarında Atatürk'ün yanında silah arkadaşı olarak yer alan, son Osmanlı Mebusan Meclisi'nde Saruhan Mebusluğu da yapmış olan seçkin devlet adamı Celal Bayar'ın adını verilmiş, 9 Ocak 2015 tarihinde yapılan CBÜ Senato Toplantısı’nda da üniversitenin adının "Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversitesi" olarak değiştirilmesine karar verilmiştir.1992’de Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, Mühendislik Fakültesi ve Tıp Fakültesi ile daha önce Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi’ne bağlı olan Manisa İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi adıyla, Demirci Eğitim Yüksekokulu fakülteye dönüştürülerek Eğitim Fakültesi adıyla, Buca Eğitim Fakültesi’ne bağlı Beden Eğitimi Bölümü Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulu adıyla, Ege Üniversitesi’ne bağlı olan Akhisar Tütün Eksperliği Yüksekokulu Tütün Eksperliği Yüksekokulu adıyla, Alaşehir Meslek Yüksekokulu, Sağlık Meslek Yüksekokulu, Salihli Meslek Yüksekokulu, Sosyal Bilimler, Fen Bilimleri ve Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüleri kurulmuştur.1994’de Ahmetli Meslek Yüksekokulu, Demirci Meslek Yüksekokulu, Gördes Meslek Yüksekokulu, Gölmarmara Meslek Yüksekokulu, Kırkağaç Meslek Yüksekokulu, Saruhanlı Meslek Yüksekokulu, Soma Meslek Yüksekokulu, Köprübaşı Meslek Yüksekokulu ve Turgutlu Meslek Yüksekokulu kurulmuştur.
Gölmarmara Meslek Yüksekokulu, 2012’de Manisa Organize Sanayi Bölgesi Meslek Yüksekokulu adını alarak Manisa Merkeze taşınmış; 2013-2014 öğretim yılında ise adı Manisa Meslek Yüksekokulu olarak değiştirilmiştir.
